The “East African Journal of Law, Policy and Globalization” is the flagship journal of the Department of Legal Studies, Faculty of Education and Legal Studies, Kampala International University in Tanzania. This is an open access peer reviewed journal which publishes articles in English Language. All manuscripts are subjected to a double-blind peer review by academics and experts. The aim of the journal is the dissemination of cutting-edge legal research. This online journal publishes articles on a wide range of contemporary topics approached from the perspectives of national law, comparative law, international law, regional integration, socio-legal and multidisciplinary legal research.

The Editorial Board is pleased to invite manuscripts for publication in East African Journal of Law, Policy and Globalization. Manuscripts are accepted on a rolling basis.

Continuous publication:

East African Journal of Law, Policy and Globalization follows the continuous publication model. Therefore, an article will be published online in its final form, as soon as it is ready, and without waiting for other articles in the issue to be completed.

General guidelines for authors:

  1. Manuscripts should be prepared in MS Word format, Times New Roman, 12 font for text, 10 font for automatically generated footnotes, single line spacing, with 1.5 page margins.
  2. Manuscripts should be accompanied with an abstract of about 250 words, and 6 keywords. 2
  3. Inclusive of footnotes, the word count for articles is a minimum of 7000 words and a maximum of 12 000 words.
  4. The author’s name, designation, affiliation, contact number and email should be provided on the cover page of the manuscript, for correspondence and future references.
  5. Page numbers should be inserted at the bottom (middle) of pages.
  6. The house style for references and citations is OSCOLA (Oxford Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities).
  7. Submissions to the journal must be original, and not already published or under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  8. All manuscripts will be subjected to a plagiarism check, and double-blind peer review.
  9. The final decision on the publication of an article will be made by the Editorial Board.
  10. The submission of manuscripts is accepted on a rolling basis. Manuscripts which are submitted too late for a current issue will be assigned to the next issue of the journal.
